With over 20 original works of art, this body of work explores the Chattahoochee River as it moves through Atlanta where it provides not just drinking water but a natural sanctuary for Atlantans to enjoy. Each painting focuses on different stretches of the river, from wooded banks and rocky shoals to wide, reflective passages where the skyline feels both distant and present. The Palisades, Cochran Shoals, Morgan Falls and Johnson Ferry are just a few of the Chattahoochee Parks represented in this show.

In these landscapes painted in acrylics, oils and watercolors, I seek to show the many ways we all enjoy a recreational escape by hiking, paddling or fishing on the Chattahoochee throughout the four seasons. I hope my artwork echoes the complexity of the ecosystem and helps call attention to its natural beauty and fragility. I look upon the river as a friendly old neighbor, and sometimes our neighbor needs help and attention. Though the city surrounds it, the river resists containments with our help. It carves, reflects, and endures. Some of the paintings document specific locations and others are inspired the living presence of the river. Together, they form a meditation on place, continuity, and the quiet resilience of the natural world within an urban landscape.

A portion of the proceeds will go to the Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy
